Cycling to school
The decision as to whether children cycle to school rests with parents but we would remind you of the large volume of traffic around the school at peak times.  Requests for spaces in the bike sheds should be made to the School Office.

We make the following recommendations:
  • All children cycling to school should wear a cycle helmet.
  • Children under 10 years of age cycling to school should be accompanied by an adult
  • All bikes brought into school must be left in the bike shed and should be securely locked.
  • Lights, helmets and other easily removable accessories should be clearly marked with the child's name and removed from the bike during the day.

The school organises Safer Cycling training for Year 6 children during the summer term.

Outdoor play apparatus
It is County Council policy that outdoor play apparatus should not be used outside school hours, even with parental supervision. Please do not allow your children to play on infant or junior play equipment before or after school.

Car parking
Parents are requested not to park in the turning bay at the end of Warwick Road - this is obstructive to others using it for its intended purpose.
Parents should ensure that children leave their car safely, always on the pavement side, and take great care if they need to cross the road.
We consider it important that children are always given good examples of road safety.

Pedestrian Access

There are two pedestrian entrances to the school, one in Warwick Road, leading to the Infant playground, and one in Carisbrooke Road, leading to the Junior playground. There is also an entrance to the main school office.
