Following a serious fire in 2004 much of Mayfield was rebuilt and the school boasts spacious, light and airy modern buildings and spaces including a new library/ICT suite, the community room and an internal courtyard.  The older part of the school was completely refurbished at the same time and one of the Reception classrooms was extended to also provide a cloakroom and entrance for Reception children only.

Mayfield grounds have been re-landscaped including the provision of many flower beds and the planting of new fruit trees.  Our outdoor facilities also include a conservation area and a heated outdoor pool which we use from May to October, weather permitting.

Mayfield has a broadband network throughout the school with a number of interactive whiteboards and projectors in every classroom.

The school premises and pool are available for hire outside school hours and are let for many community activities, such as Girl Guides, a toddler group and pilates classes.  Enquiries about the hire of the premises should be made at the School Office. Parents wanting to hire the pool will need to be trained in resuscitation - details again from the School Office. There is a no smoking policy in the school and grounds at all times.
